Weekends closures of SR 520 and Alaskan Way Viaduct.

In case you haven't heard yet, we've got a couple major closures this weekend that will affect traffic in the Seattle area.1.SR 520 will close in both directions from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Eastbound closes between I-5 and 92nd Ave. NE and westbound between 92nd Ave NE and Montlake Boulevard. The on-ramp from Montlake to westbound SR 520 will be open. We'll be doing a bunch of different work including paving, grinding, striping and paving and installing new tolling equipment, and routine maintenance.2.Single lanes of Montlake Blvd just south of SR 520 will close intermittently from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday but Montlake will be open from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.3.Both directions of SR 99 between South Spokane St. and the north end of the Battery St. Tunnel will close from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday for Viaduct inspection.4.The north end of the SR 99 closure will extend to Valley Street in both directions from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Drivers looking to go north can get to SR 99 using the Valley St. entrance off of Dexter Ave.The good news is that there aren't any major sports events, concerts, etc. in Seattle this weekend, so this is as good a weekend as any this year to do these closures. After this weekend's restriping of about 2,000 feet on the SR 520 floating bridge westbound lanes, it should allow for a longer and smoother merge where the three westbound lanes transition to two lanes on the old west approach bridge. via /r/SeattleWA http://ift.tt/2e3ne7Q
